Structures of Langervalde forest

Customer: National Scientific Research Forest Management Agency “Meža pētīšanas stacija” of Latvian State Forest Science Institute “Silava” and Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies

Simply supported curved glulam beam bridges with spans  6.00 m and 8.00 m; plank bridges with span 6.00 m. Different treatment with chemical protective agents was carried out for each bridge to study long-term effect of the protective agents in outdoor conditions. 

The structures are located in Langervalde forest, where pedestrian paths with woodchip cover are constructed. The project involves three various types of engineering structures – small bridges with length 6 m and 8 m, and a plank bridge with length 6 m. The bridges are intended for crossing of drainage ditches to ensure movement of pedestrians in the territory. The project contains in total three bridges with length 6.00 m, 5 bridges with length 8.00 m and four plank bridges with length 6.00 m.

Timber structures for crossing of watercourses

Customer: “Ceļu būvniecības sabiedrība “Igate”” Ltd

Wooden bridges with span 10.00 m and 22.00 m for border inspection using light machinery. The site is located in Latvia – Russia border area.

Pedestrian bridge across Piķurga River, Ulbroka, Stopiņi region

Customer: Stopiņi Regional Council

The bridge structure is intended for crossing the Piķurga River. The reinforced concrete supports of the bridge are connected to screw piles previously driven in the soil. The supports are formed as buried end supports. They are made of reinforced concrete.

The load-bearing structure of structure is constructed from curved glulam beams, to which cross beams are connected with special connectors. Bridge span – 14 m.
